We do the research.
You do the lifting.
PeakPickList was built out of frustration with health and fitness product pages that exist purely to sell — not to inform. Every pick on this site has been researched, cross-referenced against real user data, and held to a strict set of criteria before it earns a spot on the list.
How We Pick
Every product on PeakPickList goes through the same research process before it makes the list.
We start by mapping the category — identifying the top-selling and top-rated products on Amazon, then expanding to expert recommendations from registered dietitians, certified trainers, and physical therapists.
We read through hundreds of verified Amazon reviews, specifically looking at 1-star and 3-star reviews — the most honest signal of real-world failure modes. We weight reviews by verified purchase status and recency.
For supplements, we verify ingredient doses against published clinical research and check for third-party testing certifications (Informed Sport, NSF, Labdoor). For equipment and wearables, we compare specifications against independent lab and publication tests where available.
Each product is scored across five dimensions relevant to its category (quality, value, ease of use, effectiveness, and durability). Only products that score well across all dimensions — not just one or two — make the final list.
Products are revisited when new versions launch, when a better alternative emerges, or when sustained negative review trends suggest a quality change. Picks that no longer hold up are removed — not just buried.
Our Criteria
Six things every product must demonstrate before it earns a pick.
A minimum of 500 verified Amazon reviews with a sustained rating above 4.2 stars. We look past the overall score at the content of reviews.
Supplements must use clinically relevant doses with no misleading labeling. Equipment must perform to its stated specifications.
Price is weighed against what you actually get. Premium products earn their spot by delivering genuinely better results — not just a better box.
Does it hold up to daily use? We specifically look for reviews from people who have used the product for 6+ months.
Where available, we prioritize products with independent testing certifications — particularly for supplements.
A product must be consistently available on Amazon and maintain consistent quality across production batches.
Affiliate Disclosure
Required by the FTC. We believe in being upfront about how this site works.
PeakPickList.com is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
This means that when you click an "View on Amazon" link on this site and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission — at no additional cost to you. The price you pay on Amazon is exactly the same whether you arrive through our link or not.
Affiliate commissions help cover the costs of running this site: research time, hosting, and writing. They do not influence which products we recommend. Products are selected based on our research criteria above, not on commission rates. We do not accept payment for reviews or placements.
Our editorial independence is the only thing that makes this site worth reading. If we recommended products based on commission rates rather than quality, our picks would be worthless — and you'd stop trusting them. That's not a trade we're willing to make.
